May 2023 RASC Luncheon Recap - Jason Sanchez and Dio Martinez, BNSF

On May 2nd, RASC hosted Jason Sanchez and Dio Martinez from BNSF for a well-attended luncheon at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Fullerton, California. The presentation for the event is available below—for best viewing experience on mobile, please download the presentation or rotate your screen.

Jason presented on BNSF’s ongoing capital improvement projects including the Needles - Goffs 3rd track and Ash Hill 3rd track, as well as projects done in coordination with regional and state agencies such as the Martinez to Thorn 3rd track, Fullerton Junction improvements, and San Diego convention center station.

Dio presented on the process for public agencies and consultants to work with BNSF on public projects, including the process for permitting, coordination, right of entry, and contractor safety training. Key among his recommendations is to start coordination with BNSF early and to use BNSF criteria and standards for proposed work on BNSF facilities.
